I was on Fox and Friends this past Saturday discussing the Freedom From Religion Foundations (F.F.R.F.) attack on the role of chaplains at 17 major college football programs in the southeast. They felt like the chaplains were being too persuasive in promoting Christian theology on the players and it was knowingly being permitted by the coaches and administrations.
The coaches insist that the players’ participation is voluntary and that the chaplains are paid with money not associated with the publicly funded university. The FFRF doesn’t have a prayer in removing the chaplains from these programs. The ACLU tried stopping me when I was the Head Coach at Clemson University and all I did was ramp it up another notch. The FFRF tried to stop Clemson last year and they didn’t and haven’t slowed down one iota. President Obama, Vladimir Putin, and Donald Trump combined, couldn’t remove the chaplains at Alabama and Auburn. These are three pretty powerful people, but not as powerful as God.
70% of the United States professes Christianity, I bet it is close to 80% where these 17 schools preside, the Bible Belt. In two weeks when the college football season starts, over 90% of the people in this part of the country will either be at a college game, watching a college game, or listening to a college game, the other 10% will be watching NASCAR or hunting and fishing. Then on Sunday they will all be in church doing one of two things, thanking God for yesterday’s victory or praying for one next week. In this part of the country it’s FAITH, FAMILY AND FOOTBALL. Don’t mess with any of these three!!!
So why is the FFRF doing this? They are losing their relevance and are trying desperately to regain it. What better way to bring attention to their cause than to challenge football and religion two weeks before the season starts. At the beginning of this Presidential election cycle Donald Trump has taken a shot across the bow of political correctness and it is time for us to do the same. The battle is ours for the taking and the Freedom From Religion Foundation is in retreat!

This country needs revival and it is the only thing that will lead to reconciliation. While the FFRF is trying to ban chaplains…college and professional football teams around the country are screening this film. In the end…there is only ONE WAY to truly win! Don’t miss it.
