I spoke this weekend at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes fundraiser in Frederick, Maryland. I have spoken at FCA events in the Northeast before, but most of my FCA events that I speak to have been in the Southeast. With the Southeastern part of the United States traditionally called the Belt Buckle of the Bible Belt, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has always been strong in this area. But the FCA event that I spoke to in Frederick on Saturday night was one of the best I have been a part of. Hats off to Randy Cole and his FCA staff for putting on a tremendous fundraiser. One of the things I was impressed with was the sincere passion that the attendants of the banquet had for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be spread in the community.
I know I have mentioned this before, but there are enough pockets of committed Christians throughout this country to give us the push we need for the spiritual rebirth this country so desperately lacks. I still pray for that strong Christian leader to emerge. Someone who can organize these pockets of soldiers who are ready for the battle that will return us to a nation that honors and respects our Judeo-Christian roots. When the battle starts, I’ve got a feeling that some of the front line troops will be from that FCA banquet in Frederick Maryland.
