It’s interesting to follow the thorough mental and physical evaluation that QB’s Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota are going through at the NFL Combine this week. Every year the NFL does this to give themselves the best chance not to “miss” on a player, especially at the position of QB.
To see the value of a QB in relationship to success, just watch what teams win the Super Bowl and College National Championship. So you would think that as much money the NFL spends on background checks and the extensive mental and physical test done at the NFL Combine this week, they would hardly ever make a mistake on a player. Every move they make and every breath they take is critiqued and evaluated by the best General Managers, Directors of Player Personnel, and coaches, that the planet has to offer. Now fast forward to this year’s Super Bowl.
With the Patriots victory, Tom Brady solidified himself as the most successful QB in NFL history. He was not drafted until the sixth round of the draft. His opponent, Russell Wilson, the QB for the Seattle Seahawks, had his team in their second straight Super Bowl. He was not drafted until the third round. Somebody messed up!!!
