It is amazing what has taken place in the United States the last couple of weeks. The shootings in Chattanooga, the theater shootings in Louisiana, and the killing of unborn human babies for body parts, just to name a few. What has happened that the greatest nation in the history of the world has come to have such little disregard for the life of a human being.
The liberal agenda believes that we should have stricter gun laws while the conservative side says more people should carry guns. The liberals say that a woman should have a choice to abort while the conservatives ask, “Who speaks for the baby”? For the answer, we have elected liberal Presidents and then 4 or 8 years later elected a conservative President. Congress changes regularly between a Democratic majorly to a Republican majority. How has that been working out for us?
Sometimes God’s greatest judgment is to let man make his own decisions. Maybe at some point and time we will elect enough politicians that have a moral Godly compass that doesn’t change every election cycle. Maybe we can elect a politician who says he is a Christian, and yet not perfect, at least makes an honest effort to honor the Word of God and vote accordingly.
I don’t think we will ever produce enough men and women of Godly character to return this country to its “greatness” until we return to a strong Biblical family unit. I believe it was Confucius who said, “The strength of a nation depends on the integrity of the family”.
If you were to take what Confucius said and a nation, that over 70% say are Christian, who would faithfully believe and pray II Chronicles 7:14, we could return our country to greatness. What does II Chronicles 7:14 say? “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear their voice from Heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.
